HYDRODYNAMICS ACROSS SCALES
20th February 2025 | @Science Park, University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands
Organizers: Jácome (Jay) Armas, Akash Jain, Ruben Lier
Invitation to hydrodynamics across scales
In recent years it has become clear that hydrodynamics is a universal language for describing collective phenomena across scales, from string theory to active matter. This workshop is expected to be the first of many in which participants from both the Netherlands and abroad share the recent puzzles in hydrodynamics in their fields and discuss the potential cross-fertilisation of methodologies across fields. In this workshop we expect to touch upon the foundations of hydrodynamics, hydrodynamics of electronic transport, hydrodynamics and gravity, hydrodynamics with spin, magnetohydrodynamics and higher-form symmetries, hydrodynamics for active matter, etc.
